What do you enjoy about your job? What aspects of your job are the most exciting or interesting?
[ I enjoy] the satisfaction of accomplishing something different every day, the challenges of helping people solve their own problems in their own context [and] meeting immediate needs in an emergency. [I enjoy] absorbing different cultures and perspectives as a precondition to success, and transferring knowledge and experience across those cultures to find innovative and creative solutions to seemingly intractable problems.

Why did you choose to pursue an MPA/MPP degree?
Overseas development requires both a management perspective, as well as an approach to motivation, relationships, and success that goes beyond ordinary business skills

How did you select your graduate school?
Faculty, opportunity, access. Look for a school that will give you a wide range of experience, a flexible curriculum and a faculty that has actually implemented what they teach.

How do you feel your MPA/MPP is helping you to make a difference?
The degree [not] only opens the door, but it [also] provides a great springboard to many different career options. As an example, [I went] from transforming agriculture in Rajasthan to feeding 80,000 people in a famine in southern Africa. Few other degrees provide the basis for such a wide range of career moves.

How would you characterize your personality?
* Team worker * Good under pressure * Compassionate * Creative * Teacher * Persistent * Organized * Committed * Flexible * Fast-paced * Curious * Independent * People person * Diplomatic * Driven * Courageous * Analytical * Entrepreneurial *
