Bruno Stagno was named permanent Ambassador of Costa Rica to the United Nations in August 2002. Only two years later, he was elected President of the Assembly of States Parties of the International Criminal Court (ICC), based in The Hague for the 2005-2007 term. Prior to his UN appointment, Stagno worked for seven years as a Foreign Service Officer for the Costa Rican government. While in Costa Rica, Stagno also was a professor at the University of Costa Rica’s School of Political Science. Stagno has a MPP from Princeton, a Masters in political science from the Sorbonne in Paris, and a BA in foreign service from Georgetown University. |
